32 worshippers martyred as suicide bomber strikes Rawalpindi mosque

 

Thirty two (32) locals engaged in offering prayers embarrassed shahadat in a suicide strike at Rawalpindi Mosque. A suicide bomber has exploded himself at the gate of the mosque during Friday prayers, as a result thirty two (32) embarrassed with shahadat and more than one hundred and fifty (150) are injured.
An eye witness Mr. Kazim who arrived late in the mosque and was at a distance of seven to eight row of Imam, said that we were in bow position when we heard the explosion.
Mr. Mustafa Kamal Federal Health Minister validated the count and spoke that twenty eight (28) dead bodies were handed over to the relatives by the PIMS hospital and rest of the four bodies were earlier shifted to Polyclinic hospital. PIMS hospital management has completed all the legal formalities before handing over the dead bodies to their relatives.
While talking with the police officials they have updated that suicide bomber has detonated himself when he was stopped at the gate of the mosque. He was a member of Fitna al-Khawarij.


It was a powerful explosion and a huge number of people were injured in the blast. Soon after the incident Rescue teams and Police have rushed to the site and started rescue operation and emergency was declared in Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS), CDA hospital and Polyclinic hospitals and the huge numbers of impacted person were taken their to immediate care and intensive care, out of them more them fifty (50) worshippers were in critical conditions and the death toll may rise according to the sources. All major department including Burns, orthopedic and neuro center, were activated as an emergency medical point.
Following the security, safety and legal procedure, the site of the blast was completely cordoned off and sealed by security personnel. The assistant commissioner has been assigned a task to oversee the treatment of the patient of the incident in various hospitals where the patients have been taken for treatment.
Inspector General oof police, Islamabad Capital Territory, imposed an emergency after the incident and directed all officials to remain on high alert.
Bomb disposal squad and other investigation teams started collecting the evidence and sealed the impacted site. The official requested the citizens to remain calm and they have urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies as the investigation is continues.
President Asif Ali Zardari extended his deep condolences to the victims of the incidents who have lost their lives in the blast, according to a statement issued by the official X-account of PPP.
He expressed grief over the incident, saying that targeting innocent civilians is a crime against humanity.
He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and directed that all possible medical facilities to be provided to impacted person.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif slammed the explosion at a mosque. The Prime Minister expressed his deep grief and slammed strongly the blast that also wounded more than 80 people.

He also commanded the Health Minister to ensure the best immediate medical treatment for the injured and asked him to personally monitor the relief activities.
He emphasized that no one would be permitted to generate chaos and unrest in the country.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif observed the Indian and Afghanis footprints back of the recent terrorist attack in the Federal Capital.
The Defence czar said the initial investigations has confirmed that the terrorist involved in the attack had travelled to Afghanistan multiple times.


After suffering a humiliating defeat in May 2025, India is pursuing war through proxies as it no longer has the guts to fight directly, he also added. The minister pledged that the state would respond to this brutality with full force.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry addressed a press conference and said that the suicide bomber has been identified. The suicide bomber although was not an Afghan citizen but he had visited to Afghanistan multiple times.
The Minister said the terrorists has set soft, he also added that brother of Inspector General of Islamabad Police is also included in the martyred in the suicide blast.
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) confirmed the identity through its record that he belonged to Peshawar and his age was 32 years old.
