Rescuers has speedup the rescue operations fearing Gul Plaza collapse
Over 80 are still missing while death toll stands at 26: Two sisters who were shopping for their wedding are among the missing

Twenty six 26 Dead bodies are confirmed however still more than eighty 80 people are missing including two sisters who had arrived Gul Plaza for their wedding shopping.
Relief operations has been intensified by the the rescue workers for clearing up the debris at the Karachi’s Gul Plaza, destroyed by a massive blaze. Rescue team has feared the building might collapse as already one of the portion of structure had collapse earlier and the pillars of the remaining multi-storey building have bent because of the intense heat.
Many people were moved towards one of the busiest shopping mall of the metropolitan city on Saturday’s night after the blaze erupted, where over 80 people are still missing while the death tolls climbed to 26 by Tuesday morning.
Search operation will remain continue as ponly twenty six dead bodies have been recovered. 1122 Sindh Emergency service spokesperson Hassan Khan told the media.
One of the rescuer has also passed away while at least 30 injured people were hospitalized.
One of the resident of Karachi Mr.Shahbaz Ghulam who was Standing outside the burnt mall, said his nephew’s whereabouts were unknown. He has made requests to the authorities and media to help them in any way possible,
People are still in pain as they do not know what happened with their loved ones.
If they have found them or their bodies they can have some relief or patience and peace.
Syed Asad Raza, one of the top police officer in Karachi’s southern district told media men the force has a list of 80 missing persons.
Rescue workers shared that the blaze came in under control after a huge destruction which were last for thirty six 36 hours, reasons for which were still not known.

Deputy commissioner south Mr. Javed Khoso has shared that out of the 26 dead bodies 18 have been identified while still 75 people are missing.
He further updated that locations of 39 missing people has been identified inside the Gul Plaza.
He also confirmed that the 40 percent of the building has fallen while the remaining portion of the structure has been fragiled and can be demolished at any time.
They have requested the traders to cooperate with them and stay away from the red zone.
A government committee has launched an investigation, but it was not immediately clear what had caused the fire.
Another citizen 55 years old Mr. Muhammad Qaisar was sitting outside the mall, he last heard from his wife, sister and daughter-in-law at 8:00 pm on Saturday. The phone was ringing until 10:00 pm, but no one has picked the call. It continued to ring until midnight, but no one picked up,
About twelve hundred shops were established on three storey shopping mall, offering a wide range of goods and was famous for wedding shopping and home decoration items. People belonging form all class including lower middle class, middle class upper middle class and upper classed used to buy their desired items form Gul Plaza.
A woman also told to media that her two sisters who came here from Australia and Spain for wedding shopping are still missing. Public including Shopkeepers and families criticised authorities for their slow rescue operations.
More than 1,000 rescue and fire-fighting personnel participated in the relief and rescue operation. Now they have speed up the debris removing work fearing the whole building might demolished any moment as the pillars it was standing on have bent.
The rescue personnel have retrieved several bodies from the burnt bricks, some were so burnt to be recognizable and some were found out into pieces.
The Sindh Buildings Control Association (SCBA) officials rushed to the site along with the help of drawing of the plaze into their hands but their effort was useless as new shops have been added and these shops in the plaza have narrowed the passageways.
According to the SCBA maps, out of the eight entry points in the Gul Plaza five have been closed due to the illegal construction of new shops.

The Sindh government has made an announcement that Gul Plaza would be rebuilt and rehabilitation will be take place of shopkeepers who owned 1,200 shops which were destroyed in the inferno.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also announced Rs10 million compensation for family of each fire victim. If need arises the government will hold a judicial inquiry into the incident, he added.
Fire incidents are common in Karachi’s markets and factories, which are known for their poor infrastructure and safety measures.
