West Indies failed to qualify directly for ICC Cricket World cup 2027

West Indies, the Two-time former world champions has failed save his spot and straight qualification for ICC Mega event 2027 which is likely to be played in South Africa.
West Indies will now have to go through the qualifier stage for the second consecutive time, please note that once West Indies was considered unbeatable black storm black storm now facing difficult time. They have earlier played qualifying round in Mega event of 2023 which was played in India and won by Australia.
Top eight teams including hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe have to secure their position by end of September 2026 cut-off date. Most recent qualification is of Afghanistan, they have beaten Ireland and secured their spot and confirmed their direct qualification in world cup 2027.
New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England, Australia, India, Bangladesh, South Africa and Zimbabwe have secured direct qualification for the World Cup.
West Indies, has their current standing as ranked 10th team, still have to play two more one day international matches against India before the cut-off date.
However if they win two matches consecutive, they could not qualify for the mega event,
The Caribbean side will therefore have to play the World Cup qualifiers in February.
After they also failed to qualify directly for the 2023 World Cup, it will be the second consecutive time that West Indies have entered the qualifying stage.
